Brown spots can develop on the skin and sometimes, they cover your face, by which you lose your beauty. Although, these spots are harmless, one wishes to get rid of them. Mostly these spots occur on older people but at times, even youngsters have it. One of the major reasons behind developing skin spots is the excess or lack of melanin, as it causes skin pigmentation. Exposure to sun increases the production of melanin, which is produced in order to save the skin from UV radiations of the sun and hence, to prevent cancer but these spots can also develop during pregnancy or if you use birth control methods.
Here are basic ingredients which you may use to improve the way you look.

Lemon Juice


Lemon contains citric acid, which reacts with the excess melanin and reduces the effect of it on the skin. Thus, rub lemon for 15 minutes 2 times in a day and wash off. In two to three months your spots will become lighter.

ALoe Vera


Aloe Vera helps in keeping the skin young and fresh. You need to cut an aloe vera leaf and take out its gel by pressing it with your fingers. Apply this gel directly on the spots, leaving it for 30 minutes and then wash your face. Do it twice daily for 1-2 months to see better results.

Gram Flour Pack


You need to prepare gram flour pack using 2 tsp of Gram flour, 1 tsp of Milk or curd (for dry skin), Lemon juice, Turmeric, Tomato juice, Castor/almond oil and Rose Water. Apply this pack until it dries and then, take 2-3 drops of almond oil on your fingers and start scrubbing the mask off your face gently. If you repeat it for 10 days, you will see noticeable results.



Lactic acid in yogurt is useful for lightening dark spots. Thus, take 1 tbsp of yogurt, 2 tbsps of ground oatmeal and 1 tsp of lime juice. Mix it well and apply all over your dark spots thrice a week and see them get reduced within a month or two.
