According statistic even 1,4 million Americans are diagnosed with diabetes every year. The most common is diabetes type 2. It’s characterized by high blood glucose levels, caused by either a lack of insulin in the body, or the body’s inability to use insulin properly.

What are the common reasons for diabetes:

  • Family history of diabetes
  • Being overweight
  • Maintaining an unhealthy diet
  • Physical inactivity
  • High blood pressure
  • History of gestational diabetes
  • Impaired glucose tolerance

In order to treat on time we need to be able to recognize the early signs that are body is trying to show.

  1. Being hungry- excessive hunger

This could be one of the signs. When blood sugar levels plummet, the body believes that it hasn’t been fed, causing it to crave more of the glucose that cells need in order to function.

  1. Fatigue

Fatigue and irritability in the body can be caused by high levels of blood sugar. When the blood sugar is high the body needs more energy to work harder to compensate for its glucose deficiency.

  1. Increased Urination / Constant Thirst

In this situation the kidneys which work harder in order to get rid of the extra glucose, we have the urge to urinate frequently, with this comes the need for fluids in order to replenish the lost ones.

  1. Dry and Itchy skin

Poor circulation is responsible for dry skin and also one of the early signs of diabetes.

  1. Blurry vision

This symptom will subside once blood sugar levels are returned to normal, but ignoring this early warning sign and allowing blood sugar levels to stay high for too long can cause permanent damage.

  1. Slow- healing cuts and sores

The excessive amounts of glucose which travel through the veins and arteries can damaged the blood vessels, which make the flow of the blood difficult to reach all the parts of the body.

  1. Yeast Infections

When one body develops diabetes goes through an immunosuppressed state which makes it prone to certain infections like yeast or fungal.
